Books:
Elisa Carbone has a sequel to this book called Poison in the Colony. It follows the life of the baby we meet towards the end of this book during her teenage years (1622), but I do not recommend this book for this age group. It covers many harsh topics, including a first-person perspective on an attempted murder of a child by a parent, the “gift” of second sight, child abuse of multiple forms, and more. It was hard for my heart to read as an adult, and I think it will be harder for many children as well, especially those who are sensitive. The author does have other books, but I have not read any of them.
See also: Jamestown. I will be posting other books and movies on the Jamestown page as multiple books cover this time period.
